Family Consultations

Dr. Cummings provides a two-hour telephone consultation to families who may be worrying if a loved one has developed memory loss or are struggling to understand a loved one’s behavior, or are trying to make a decision about professional caregiver assistance. Based on your input and the questions she asks, Dr. Cummings will assist in ruling out the types of dementias that likely do not affect your loved one. She will use several assessment tools that you may share with your physician in determining a definitive diagnosis that can then lead to the development of a caregiving plan. At the end of the consultation, you will be armed with a greater understanding of the disease affecting your loved one, how it will progress, and the steps you can take to prepare for the next stage of the disease.

Professional Caregiver Consultations

Dr. Cummings can advise professional caregivers with advice and information that can enable them to improve overall care, upgrade care procedures, or manage challenging behaviors.
